Wimblu creates and publishes stories that restore our sense of belonging and connection to the Earth.

The planetary crisis is calling us to reconsider how we relate to ourselves, each other and to the Earth. Yet, there are very few spaces to engage meaningfully with our inner and outer worlds.

At Wimblu, we believe stories can be a refuge. Through creative nonfiction, we create safe spaces of inquiry, conversation and education about the crisis and the ways we can heal our sacred relationship to Earth.

OUR VALUES

Community

Remembering that we are not alone and creating a fabric of human and non-human relationships, constantly reminds us that we are surrounded by teachers and allies, and gives us both the comfort and the courage to continue working for a fair and healthy world.

AFFECTIVITY

Acting from a place of genuine love and connection to our worlds is much more inspiring and sustainable than acting from a place of fear and battle. It is not about preventing the world from collapsing but about caring, protecting and co-creating the conditions so that everything we love can flourish in its truest essence.

IMAGINATION

Believing that another world is possible begins with imagining alternatives. Cultivating spaces of imagination and creativity allows us to consider different realities and work for them while enjoying the adventure.

SPIRITUALITY

A genuine curiosity about our inner worlds and their connection and communication with our environment, puts us in constant reverence and gratitude for the mystery of life and invites us to honor and celebrate our presence on Earth.

COMPASSION & EMPATHY

Giving room to difficult emotions both of others and of our own, as well as the contradictions of which we are inevitably a part, allows us to start acting today from wherever we are, despite the uncertainty and insecurities.

Wimblu is the Bribri name for one of the souls that, according to this culture, inhabits our body. When we die, Wikol, the right eye’s soul, travels to the underworld. Wimblu, the left eye’s soul, remains among the bones in the living world. Inspired by this cosmovision, our initiative was born deeply attached to this world and the life it sustains.
